1 Day Mount Kinabalu Climb

As one of the most extreme climbing packages you will find in Malaysia, the 1 Day Mount Kinabalu climb will quite possibly be one of the most challenging adventures you have taken part in, as it will test your endurance, climbing skill and ability to maintain a positive mindset as you set out on the twisty, almost 9 km long trails to the peak of the mountain.

Usually, the two trails that this package contains are reserved for two different days, with a stop at the Laban Rata rest houses more than 3,000 meters above sea level.

The climb of the 6.5 Timpohon Gate path and the journey from the rest houses to the Mount Kinabalu summit, however, are all scheduled to be completed in about 6 hours, in a remarkable endurance time trial that will push your body’s limits.

Despite the height of the mountain and the difficulty of the climb – especially as it’s all being done in a single day – it is not considered to be a task only for professionals, as thousands of climbing enthusiasts and tourists make their way each year to the Kinabalu HQ to conquer this magnificent mountain.

The 1 Day Mount Kinabalu Climb is definitely not for the faint hearted. The engaging itinerary packed into a single day of extreme climbing requires excellent physical endurance and a remarkable tolerance to the thin air you will find in the higher regions of the mountain, particularly since you will likely be completely tired by the time you reach the 4 km tall peak.

Apart from packing the proper climbing shoes and gear, you will also need to account for the weather and pack a few lightweight snacks, a first aid kit as well as plenty of water.

Even though the 1 day Mount Kinabalu climb will only last about 12 hours, these will likely be some of the most challenging hours you’ve ever spent on a climb, offering a remarkably engaging experience for any climbing enthusiast.
